Skordatura emerged from a deep-rooted love for the music of Belgian energy bombs Greetings from Mercury, Aka Moon and Mâäk's Spirit. Several meetings, joint rehearsals and a livestream in collaboration with Gent Jazz Festival resulted in this exciting collaboration. The strengths of both formations are played out: Skordatura takes care of the self-willed, angular and contrary compositions and acts as rhythm section. Mâäk complements this with sharp arrangements for 4 horns and crackling solos.

Skordatura and Mâäk find each other in a rough embrace of energy and raw expression, averse to compromise and with a passion that encompasses all that is beautiful and ugly.
